        Technology Acquisition Partnership with SMEs

        Wednesday 11th December 1996

        This event, organised by the Petroleum Science and Technology Institute (PSTI) in collaboration with Rolls-Royce plc, aims to provide examples of:

        • effective sourcing of innovation with SMEs;
        • creating successful working relationships with innovative SMEs;
        • shared-risk and revenue agreements.

        Rolls Royce plc Aerospace group will discuss how this is currently being achieved, highlighting the mechanisms employed. Rolls Wood Group, a SME to Rolls Royce, will provide the SME perspective discussing how Rolls-Royce plc has supported the joint venture. It will also provide an insight into how technology transfer from aero-derivative engines to oilfield equipment has been achieved. The processes involved will be discussed in detail.

        In addition, Schlumberger will discuss its oil and gas related initiatives which are taking advantage of technology transfer. The sourcing of quality innovation with SMEs will also be discussed.
